CONTRAINDICATIONS
Individuals who have the following will not be suitable &/or eligible for permanent make up services.
- Had Botox/chemical peels/lasers/microdermabrasions in the last month. Client must wait 2 weeks.
- Used Accutane within the year. (Otherwise skin will be sensitive & cause poor healing.)
- Allergies to Lidocaine, Epinephrine or other topical anesthetics.
- Allergies to metal &/or pigment
- Currently ill (cold, flu, fever, etc.) or known recent exposure to COVID
- Irritated skin or skin conditions near treatment area (rash, acne, sunburn, eczema, rosacea) Skin will be sensitive & cause poor healing.
- A pacemaker or heart conditions.
- Viral infections, autoimmune disease or blood disorders.
- Undergoing Chemo therapy or treated within the year (consult Doctor & will need a note to keep in client’s portfolio)
- Pregnant or nursing (Metals in ink will pass to baby. Can dump & pump for 2 weeks following procedure.)
- Diabetic (insulin dependant) Must be controlled & with Doctor’s note (Pre-diabetes is ok–diet controlled & not on medication.)
- Under age 18
- Have undergone an organ transplant
- Vitiligo (skin condition with large white patches)


Please be advised, other Medical conditions not listed above, some prescription medications, herbal supplements, vitamins, over the counter supplements and some skin care products can cause lightening of the pigment, &/or cause excessive bleeding during tattooing and other adverse effects.
If a client has a question regarding their health, medical problem or medication, kindly ask your client to consult with their Doctor for further instruction and/or a Doctor’s note.
HYPERTENSION is not a contraindication however, I have seen many clients experience more bleeding with Hypertension than with clients who do not have Hypertension. Even if the client is on a prescription medication, they may still experience more bleeding and will require frequent touch ups.
